According to him, ” The suspects, Orji Chinedu,  38, Uche Godwin, 37, and Ifeoma Nathaniel (female) 51, who were arrested on October 9, 2023, were in the business of picking passengers from Iyana Church Bus Stop, with a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 497 AA.

” The suspects ran out of luck when some persons recognized them and raised alarm.

” On receipt of the information, Police Officers from Sabo Division raced to the scene, arrested the suspects and recovered their operational vehicle.

In the same vein, the three others, Identified as

Austin Okoro, 47, (the ring leader), Godwin Asezour, 54, and Susan Elohor female), 42, were nabbed while on the diversion, attempted to swindle their victim by ostensibly introducing her to their alleged money-doubling business.

Unlike in the former, it was gathered that the fraudsters had held hostage their victim at Idumota area of the state, before their arrest by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad.

The uncooperative victim, a 23-year-old lady (name withheld), was said to be heading to Iyana Oworo from Gerard Road Ikoyi, where she  boarded the suspects’ Volkswagen Vento salon car with registration number BDG 513 EJ,  but was forcibly taken to Idumota.

Confirming the arrest, the Police image maker said, ” The victim, however, sighted an RRS patrol team at Idumota and successfully raised the alarm to their hearing, which led to the prompt arrest of the suspects.

“:The suspects have since been charged to court following completion of investigation by the CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS.
