Kogi Guber: Yahaya Bello Admits Tension Building Up In APC

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has acknowledged the growing tensions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of its gubernatorial primaries billed for 14th of this month.

As the primaries inches, the governor assured the governorship candidates of fair playing ground for the contestants, preparatory to the election in November this year.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that in a meeting held with APC governorship aspirants and stakeholders, the governor assured them of a free and fair play ground for democracy to thrive.

He advised all aspirants to warn their followers and supporters to be courteous and civil in all their actions and comments, stressing that there are modes of primaries namely direct, indirect and consensus.

He promised to begin consultation with stakeholders immediately with the party coming out with the opinion.

He warned those going to court to desist and urged all those in attendance to be products of the system and not mess with the system when the choice is made.

In the meeting, the governor also stated that he has a good relationship with the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and hence, there are enough positions to go round, especially for the good losers.

With these statements, the governor has shown his commitment to ensuring a free and fair primary election, and it is hoped that all aspirants and their supporters will comply with the directives to make the process peaceful and transparent.
