Kidnapped Ex-Minister, Police Assures Of Rescue

The Nigerian Police Force, Kaduna State Command has said it is working hard to ensure that former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse kidnapped on Sunday by unknown gunmen in Kaduna is rescue unhurt and re-united with his family.
Spokesman of the Command ASP Aliyu Usman gave the assurance in an interview in Kaduna state.
He added that police will record more success in the fight against criminal activities in state and country as whole with the cooperation from the general public.
Following the increase in kidnapping in the state, he called on the public to assist the Police with useful information that will help to curb the activities of kidnappers and other criminals in the state.
According to him, a team of detectives have been deployed across the state to ensure his safe and unconditional release, adding that policemen are on the trail of the abductors and any useful information from the public will help them in their mission.
Former minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse was on Sunday afternoon kidnapped in a commando style at Dan Amar Road, off Inuwa Wada, Ungwan Rimi GRA in Kaduna city.
Hirse who served in the administration of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was said to be returning from a condolence visit to the family of late Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki, was picked in front of Alhaji Mamman Daura’s house at about 10:00am.
