KDSG urges mothers to key into mertanal neonatal

Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency, has called on mothers in the state to key into the ongoing Maternal and Neonatal Child Health Week (MNCHW) with a view to reaping the benefits of the programme.

A statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, said the call has become necessary in view of the fact that they are not only accessible but also free to all residents of the state.

Dr Hadiza urged all mothers and care givers to take advantage of the opportunity to get free services, which include Vitamin A, for children aged 6-59 months for good eye sight and for improved immunity against childhood killer diseases such as measles.

She also revealed other services in the packages to include deworming tablet for children and routine drugs for pregnant women.

The services she said is also available “in the various government health facilities between 8-2pm. In addition, the ongoing maternal new born child health week offers mothers and other caregivers opportunity to register their children and also get adequate information on nutrition and sanitation.” She said.
