Katsina State Government has introduced special allowances for all Chief Imams of juma’at mosques, their Deputies and Prayer Callers across the state.

This was in addition to the ward heads across the entire district areas of the state.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made the announcement when he inaugurated the steering committee for the security watch corp for the thirty four local Governments in the state held at Presidential banquet hall, General Muhammadu Buhari (Government) house, Katsina.

Governor Umaru Radda said the measure was to motivate the  community  and religious leaders to join hand in the fight against insecurity 

 In the meantime Governor Dikko Radda has  officially launched the disbursement of  six hundred and forty million,six hundred and forty eight thousand, five hundred and forty six (640,648,546.00) naira as bursary allowances to indigent students of various institutions of higher learning across the country.

This however, was in addition to  the presentation of Katsina State award of excellence to indigent students with high  CGPA at their respective institutions.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda announced a personal donation of fifty thousand (50,000.00) Naira to each of the two hundred and ten (210) recipients of the awards.     

The governor explained that the approval  of the Scholarship allowance for the Fresh and Continuing Students of 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic session was a clear testimony of the current State administration’s commitments towards bringing succour on the flights of Katsina State Students of Tertiary Institutions across the   country.

While assuring his continued support and cooperation towards making lives of Students better in  the State,  Governor Umaru Radda reaffirmed the prompt payment of scholarship aimed at reducing the hardship parents are facing in the current economic and security situation bedeviling the state and the country.

He disclosed his administration had already laid down the foundation of three model schools in the state for the gifted children of the poor to have opportunities that they can rob shoulders with the children of the elites.

Also speaking at the occasion Commissioner for  Higher, Technical and Vocational Education Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmad commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for the payment of the scholarship and the award given to the Katsina State Students with outstanding academic performance across Higher institutions in the country.

Professor Ahmad emphasized that, “the education sector has recorded alot of developmental changes within the shortest time of administration of Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.”
