Katsina State Government has distributed 100 assorted bags of foodstuff to 100 women in Dutsi Local Government Area of the state.
This is to enable the beneficiaries to perform this Ramadan Fast with relative ease.
The wife of the State Governor, Hajiya Zakiyya Aminu Masari said the gesture was to assist orphans and less privileged women of the area.
Hajiya Zakiyya Aminu Masari who was represented by Hajiya Murja Lawal Leko Dutsi, advised beneficiaries to utilize the food items, not to resell them.
Earlier, the wife of the Local Council Chairman, Hajiya Maryam Abdulrazak Adamu said the Ramadan welfare was provided by the state administration to improve the living conditions of people.
She commended the wife of the Governor for assistance to the less privileged.
Also speaking, the APC Women Leader, Hajiya Rahane Sani Dutsi commended the state and the Local Governments for the assistance.
She called on beneficiaries to reciprocate by continued support to the present administration.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Umma Rabe expressed appreciation to the state government for the assistance.
