Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has launched the distribution of palliative to 1,813 must vulnerable from eleven electoral wards in Daura Senatorial Zone.
The launching ceremony which was held at Daura Township Stadium, attracted most vulnerable, such as widows, divorcees, children, orphans and elderly persons who received fifty kilogrammes bags of rice each and ten thousand Naira respectively.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Governor Dikko Radda said Daura is the last among the three senatorial zones of Katsina, Daura and Funtua, having launched the distribution of the palliative in the state.
Governor Radda appreciated the distribution committee in Daura for the arrangement this he said ensured orderly conduct of the beneficiaries who lined up from the screening to the point of collection and called on others leading the distribution committee at the remaining local governments to emulate them.
Governor Dikko Radda urged the beneficiaries to make good use the rice to feed their family members and resist any attempt by selfish individual to cheat them.
On his part the Chairman Palliative distribution committee in Daura who is also the state commissioner for commerce and trade, Alhaji Adnan Na-habu said the committee had carefully screened 1,813 must vulnerables from across the eleven electoral wards in the area to benefit from the palliative.
Alhaji Adnan Na habu therefore warned the beneficiaries against selling the commodity.
Earlier in an address of welcome Chairman of Daura local government, Alhaji Bala Musa expressed gratitude to the state Governor for his concern to people of the state.
