Katsina Customs Generates  Over N179m In November

Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has generated over one hundred and seventy nine million Naira in November 2022.

The State Area Controller, Idris Wada Chedi stated this during a monthly media briefing to review the performance of the command.

According to him, the amount has increased with fifty eight million Naira from what was collected in  October, representing a 47 per cent increase in the revenue collected.

Controller CD Wada pointed out that during the period the Command has intercepted smuggle vehicles and means of conveyance.

He added that the items include two hundred and forty one bags of foreign rice, eight hundred and one cartons of foreign spaghetti and macaroni, couscous and twelve bags of Tiger Nuts.

 Others are 65 jerrycans of premium motor spirit, seventy cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas and eleven different vehicles among others.

He also said four suspects in connection with the seizures were arrested and granted bail pending the conclusion of investigations.

Controller Wada who reminded the people of the State and the business community to use the advantage of reopening Jibia border to conduct their Trans Sahara border business also cautioned them to avoid using the remaining borders as yet to close.

Appreciating the effort of current leadership of retired Colonel Hamid Ali, attributinv the success recorded to the support of the Comptroller General.
