Terrorists again attacked and killed two persons and abducted about 30 others in communities in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A survivor, Malam Isa said the communities affected are Shiwaka, Unguwan Bagudu and Sabonlayi, saying that the police in Kaduna is yet to react to the incident.

According to Isa, more corpses might be found in the bushes if a thorough search was conducted.

The locals, according to him, could not pay the levies imposed on them by the bandits, hence the communities were attacked.

He explained, “They attacked on Monday, around 11:30 a.m., while most people went to their farms. It’s the deadline for the imposed levy by bandits.”

For now, he said that farmers are afraid to go to farms for their safety, assuring of looming food scarcity is imminent unless the situation is arrested next year in the area.

He appealed to President Bola Tinubu that people in their communities are ever ready to assist in dealing with this menace and ensure people go about their normal way of life.

He stated that the problem is that, based on experience, even if the levy is paid, the bandits will never stop carrying out their attacks against innocent locals in the area.

According to him, these weeks, many attacks were carried out at various locations by the bandits with many unreported victims and casualties, explaining that the capital of Birnin-Gwari was stormed by the bandits twice this week, as the situation is escalating.
