Kaduna South APC Senatorial Candidate Organises  Football Tournament

In an effort to foster peace and unity among the youth, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for the Kaduna South  South Senatorial District for the 2023 General Elections, Honourable Bulus Audu has organised a peace and Unity Football Tournament for youth in the eight Local government areas of the zone.

Speaking at the kick off of the tournament, which took place at LGEA Primary School Ngarshang football field in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Audu promised to place priority on peace, youth and women development, if given the mandate to become the next Senator.

He said that women and youth in the society are a population that need special attention against which backdrop, he promised to line up a lot of dividends of democracy for them.

The candidate said 16 teams would compete for the trophy, with each local government presenting two teams, a gesture that has been  geared towards actualising sustainable and continuous peaceful coexistence among the youth and people in the communities.

He added that in an effort to show the youth  success they can achieve in sports, he invited a former Super Eagles player, Tijjani Babangida to grace the occasion.

Audu then commended the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai for his  achievements in taking Kaduna State to another level of development.

While appreciating all who contributed to the success of the tournament, he appealed to the people of Southern Kaduna to continue to support APC and vote the party in the forth coming election to pave way for more meaningful development.

Speaking at the event, the special guest, an ex international football player and Super Eagles striker, Mr Tijjani Babangida commended the aspirant for organising the tournament, which is an opportunity for the young ones to showcase their potentials, that can take them to greater heights.

Babangida said he will try his best to assist some of the participants move forward in their football careers owing to the fact that he will appeal to the candidate to make the event an annual one, in addition to inviting more stakeholders to come over and scout for more footballers among the participants as the tournament progresses.

In her remarks, the Chairman, Jaba Local Government Council, Mrs Nita Byack George, expressed gratitude to Honourable Bulus Audu for selecting Jaba Local Government Area for the kick off of the tournament.

She stated that spending money on sports is not a waste of resources, as some people are insinuating, rather, sports she observed, has brought fame and fortunes to many people all over the world.

Speaking  at the event, one  the invited personalities, a Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Licenced Coach cum players agent, Mohammed Danladi Garba mentioned that he had selected four players at the event, to take them for screening and connection with national league teams. 

The opening match which was played between Young FC Kwoi, ang Yong Lions FC Kwoi ended goalless after regulation time.
