Kaduna PDP Gubernatorial Candidate,  Ashiru Promises To End Insecurity If Elected

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State in next year’s elections, Honourable Isa Mohammed Ashiru Kudan has assured that if elected, in the first one year of his government, he will, by the grace of God, bring insecurity to its barest minimum in the state.

He said it would enable the farmers to return to their farms, secure their communities for the benefit of everyone, adding that the interest of women, youths and look into the issue of sacked workers in the state.

Ashiru made the assertion when he visited the District Head of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, Esu Chikun, Ishaku Yari and other stakeholders of Kajuru and Chikun local government areas.

He extended sympathy to the two traditional institutions on the terrible situations that have been bedeviling their people, following the incessant attacks by bandits and kidnappers, assuring them that he would do everything possible to fight the menace to enable people leave the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps and return to their homes.

The gubernatorial candidate stated, “I’m quite aware of the insecurity challenges facing the people of Kajuru and Chikun. It is very unfortunate and unacceptable. I really sympathise with all the victims families and communities that are being affected by this dastardly acts.”

He expressed his willingness to carry both women and youth along in his government if elected, saying that the women, the PDP presidential  candidate, Atiku Abubakar has made it clear that if he becomes the president of Nigeria, he would invest up to $10bn on women development and at the state level, he would do his best to alleviate  the plight of women.

“We, the older politicians are aware of the logjam and we need to shift grounds for the youth to come in. I will surely work with the productive younger generation so that it will be easier for them to take over from where we stopped,” he assured.

He observed the plight of sacked workers by Gov. Nasir el-Rufai-led government and assured them that those who have genuine cases will be reinstated, drawing inspiration from Gov. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi’s legacy.

He added, “When the military administration of Hameed Ali sacked workers in the 1990s, Gov. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi elected government, through its magnanimity, set-up a committee and looked into the issue and afterwards, those who had genuine cases were reabsorbed while those who exceeded their years of service, were paid their entitlements and by the grace of God, we will replicate the same thing if elected,” he assured.

PDP State Chairman, Dr. Felix Hassan Hyat during the visit,  received hundreds of politicians who decamped from APC to PDP, led by Samuel A. Dangiwa.
