Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have united against what they described as imposition of candidate for the forthcoming LGA Polls in the state.
Addressing the press on Saturday March 3 in Kaduna, they blamed a member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Abubakar Mohammed Mamadi, warning that his action if not corrected, will create crisis for the party in the LGA.
“It is on a sad note that we bring to the notice of the public the illegal and fraudulent development in Igabi Local Government Area, aimed at imposition of candidates to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Mamadi House of Reps Member we gathered, was instrumental to the change of the entire APC Ward Excos from Igabi Local Government, a development that is sad and unfortunate,” Tasiu Musa, APC State Secretary Candidate 2014 who spoke on behalf of APC Stakeholders, and members of the party in Igabi LGA, said.
He said that for instance,  Honourable Mamadi used one Danladi Jibrin who was turbaned by his Royal Highness, Alh Dr. Shehu Idris Emir Of Zazzau on 4th January 2017 as Dakacen Kutungare to claim to be ward Chairman of Afaka Ward, while the legally elected ward chairman of the APC in Afaka ward is Idris Ahamad.
“In Rigachikun Ward, Abdulhamid Sarki Likora was also fraudulently appointed as the new chairman, while the authentic and elected chairman is Mal. Iliyasu Musa.
“These are few cases among the many that have been him imposed,” the stakeholders cried out.
Speaking further, he said that also, on his orders, Hon. Jabir Khamis Rigasa was declared as the APC Candidate for Chairman  in the forth coming  local govt election.
“He also lied against  Governor Nasir el-Rufai, saying  he was directed by the governor to change the Excos and declare Jabir Khamis Rigasa as the sole APC Chairmanship Candidate in Igabi Local Govt which is a big lie on our respected Governor.
“With this act, he is trying to destroy the good name of his excellency Mal Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai  and also create uncontrollable crises within party in the local government,” he stressed.
The concerned stakeholders said that APC is a party that always respects internal democracy.
” APC will never impose any candidate or give any automatic ticket to anyone, as clearly observed in the our previous convention.
“The President, Muhammadu Buhari was elected among several contestants by free and fair primary election. The same goes to our Governor, Malam el-Rufai.
“If Hon Abubakar Mamadi will recall, he was also elected through  free and fair primaries where he defeated the then incumbent House of Assembly Reps member Hon Ibrahim Bello Rigachikun.
“We want the executive governor and the party to take immediate action against him,” they appealed.
The group emphasized that the governor has made it loud and clear on several occasions that he has no candidate in the forth coming LGA election.
“It is clearly demonstrated by the leadership of APC Kaduna State by selling the nomination and  form to all interested party members and set a free and fair process,” it noted.
The group thanked the executive Governor for his gesture in promoting internal democracy and uplifting the party in Kaduna State by implementing several developmental projects across the state
They therefore, calked on to wade in and salvage the party in Igabi LGA.
“On Behalf Of APC Stakeholders, Executives, and entire members in Igabi Local Government, we hereby appeal to the leadership of our great party to conduct free and fair primary elections in Igabi Local Government Area, as this is the wish of the Executive Governor.
“We want immediate action from the leadership of our great party at state level and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasir el-Rufai in calling Hon. Mamadi to order to prevent the party from uncontrollable crises and destruction of the party in Igabi Local Government,” the group concluded.
