“The Best Leaders Are Passionate About The Mission “
In leadership, there is a saying that says there are three very important considerations when leading, Delivery, Delivery and Delivery. A leader must always remember the vital importance of his mission.
The governor of Kaduna State always understands that if a leader is diverted by frivolous issues into spending too much time in attending to peripheral issues, the policy trajectory will suffer.
The mission will rightly suffer if the leader does not encourage key subordinates to focus on accomplishments of the state’s goals.
It is germane to understand that I am not trying to deepen my discourse into numerous projects that are on-going or completed, but relatively shed a luminous light on the magnanimous ideals of Senator Uba Sani.
As it were, His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani always avoids wasting of time on unimportant issues. While some leaders are prone to relegating sensitive assignments to subordinates, Malam Uba Sani refuses to be deceived by unverified reports of principal officers.
He believes that one of the paramount requirements of leading of a state is the need to joust constantly with the bureaucracy in order to ensure that the government does not become complacent, stagnant, obsolete, or overly rigid in facing new challenges and opportunities.
Euphorically, Senator Uba Sani has decided to follow the road less traveled. The governor in his commitment to planning, he deploys his rare knowledge of where the talented and innovative professionals are, and his willingness to bring on board mature, and reward them, all played pivotal roles in the planning of strategic template of his development agenda.
The governor’s commitment to creativity is indeed playing an important role in the technical and meticulous establishment of a variety of workable platforms to help in accessing the data of windows for the significant long-range planning efforts in the governance of Kaduna state.
As earlier said, this is not a chronicle of projects he initiated, but a glimpse into his personality. Accordingly, Malam Uba Sani has boldly grabbed the bull by the horn and established his own schedule and their own set of priorities.
He also places the mission first and made his ideals to reflect the aspirations of the masses. Since so many missions accomplishments relate to the morale, effectiveness, and various agendas of key subordinates, he spends a lot of time nourishing leader-follower relationships. In this regard, the governor has defined a long time strategy of his willingness to take risk in order to pursue important long-term goals with minimum of efforts.
He is willing to empower subordinates with authority to make and implement important decisions of taking Kaduna State to remarkable level and is always willing to give credit to subordinates for their ideas, energies, and sense of mission.
Correspondingly, the human impacting policies initiated by him were meant to directly affect the lives of the the people of Kaduna State, who have been denied the honey-milk of democracy.
Blazing the trail of progressive ideals, the government of Senator Senator Uba Sani has delved deeper than usual onto MDAs restructuring for effective performance, healthcare initiative, educational support initiative, boosting security capabilities to confront remote and immediate challenges, paving ways for investments in various aspects through Public private partnership PPP.
Finally, the governor is well aware that there are people who don’t want him to succeed. Most will carry out his guidance with enthusiasm and skills.
Conversely, others will tend to compromise his laudable initiatives, but he has devised ways to capture their imaginations and support. That is what a true leader does.
