*N1.5m for councilors

Working committee of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) in Katsina State has fixed five million Naira as fee for nomination forms for those willing to contest the seat of local government chairman in the state.
The State Deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa disclosed this while briefing newsmen after their meeting with other state executive and chairmen as well as secretaries of the party of the 34 local governments held at the presidential banquet hall General Muhammadu Buhari (Government) house, Katsina.
Alhaji Abu Musawa said those contesting for the seats of councillors on the other would pay one point five (1.5) million naira.maintaining that, all the money for the forms would be paid directly into the account of the party.
Alhaji Musawa said sales of forms would commence on the first to the fourth of may this year and all contestants are to return the completed forms to the state Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) on Thursday May 9.
He quoted some provisions in the election time table issued by the SIEC which said that “Primary elections for the council chairmen comes up on Saturday the eighteenth of may while that of councillors followed on Wednesday.”
He said the final list of the candidates emerged after the primaries would be submitted to the state electoral commission on Monday the twentieth of the same month.
Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa appealed to the contestants to adhere to the guidelines particularly in respect of electioneering campaigns.
