In line with its continuous consultation  with various community stakeholders, NGO’s, religious leaders and traditional rulers, the Kaduna All Progressives Congress (APC) Central Senatorial Zone, has organized a one-day town hall meeting to interact with major key stakeholders.

The event which was organized by the Kaduna APC Central Senatorial Zone, was held at Ƴar Adu’a Hall, Murtala Square, which had in attendance, all major stakeholders in the state.

Speaking during the event, the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru el-Rufa’i disclosed that the interactive season is meant to create awareness among the governed and their leaders for the success of the party and for a better leadership.

He added that, the APC government has done a lot for the well-being of people in the state, by providing infrastructural development and reviving many sectors to improve the well-being of the people within and outside the state.

The governor further explained that there’s the need for people of the state to continue giving  support to the APC  that means well for them and for  continuity of already established gigantic projects across the nation.

He said, “Uba Sani is a very good person, I have known and worked with him for over 20 years. He’s the type of person that can go out of his way to ensure he does the right thing for the betterment of his people, and has listening ears for every suggestion, so with him as my successor, there will be a lot of  achievements coming.

“So, after my tenure, I’ll be relocating from Kaduna to Abuja on May 29, 2023 after handing over to my successor, so as not to interfere with the incoming administration, but don’t come to me seeking for any contract from the state government because that is one of the major reasons that  brings conflict between past governors and present,” he said.

He expressed optimism that Senator Uba Sani will succeed him, saying that he will not make any input in the running of the next All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

el-Rufai said that the next governor will be guided by God if he has a pure heart, adding that Senator Uba Sani is a good man who will also make an excellent governor, describing him as a worthy successor, who will take Kaduna state to greater heights if voted as governor.

el-Rufai advised the people of Kaduna State not to inundate him with requests to  Uba Sani, requesting appointments or contracts when he becomes governor.

Also, while responding to some of the questions asked, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Uba Sani explained that he’ll be running a system of government that will accommodate all, not minding the differences between them.

He noted that the current government has done much  to revive various sectors by providing infrastructural development that they he will also build on to ensure  continuity of the administration for the benefit of the people.

The Senator who promised to continue with the policies and programmes of the el-Rufa’i administration, praised the governor for re-engineering governance in Kaduna State, saying he has been a student of Malam Nasir el-Rufai’s school of governance and policy in the last 20 years and he has acquired several ‘’degrees’’ as a result.

‘’In this school, there were some people who entered before me, people like the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, who is my senior. However, the school has no graduation date. So, we are still learning,’’ he said.

‘’Before the coming of this administration, government’s resources were being shared amongst a few elites, after payment of salaries. So, there was nothing left for development, in spite of the huge resources that Kaduna State was receiving as federal allocation.

‘’But Nasir el-Rufai changed that narrative by improving education, revamping healthcare and building infrastructure that is benefitting the good people of Kaduna State, instead of a few,’’ he added.

The APC gubernatorial candidate said that the result of the massive investment in education has started bearing fruits because Kaduna State is the fourth state in the country, whose students scored five credits, including English and Mathematics, in the Senior Secondary School Examinations.

Uba Sani who said that government cannot shoulder the funding of education alone, called on wealthy individuals to sponsor promising but indigent students to tertiary schools.

The Senator also said that Governor el-Rufai has empowered traders, by instituting a mortgage arrangement, whereby they will pay in installments towards owning their shops.

He recalled that shops were allocated to top government officials and party chieftains in the past, as a way of patronage, who in turn, sublet them to traders at exorbitant prices.
