Jigawa State Ministry of Works and Transport has banned the erection of bumps, and illegal road blocks across the state.
The state Commissioner of Works and Transport, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel made this known in a statement issued in Dutse.
He said henceforth, government will deal decisively with any person or group of persons found in the act, causing serious threat to the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of the state.
The commissioner directed that all roads blocks and bumps on the roads should be removed with immediate effect and called on people to cooperate with this directive to achieve the desired objectives.
Investigations revealed that before taking this decision, most fatal accidents which occured in metropolitan Dutse and beyond were caused by illegal road blocks mounted especially on highways by members of the Nigerian Police Force.
