Irate Youth Set Lagos Police Station On Fire, Injure  Officer

Some irate youth have reportedly set ablaze a Police Post located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, in Lagos.
They were also said to have injured a police officer attached to the substation, while preventing them from perpetrating the act.
The cop, who sustained severe injury on the head, was said to have been rushed to the Emergency Centre Health facility at the toll gate axis, along Lagos- Ibadan Expressway for urgent treatment.
Numbering about dozen, it was gathered that the enraged youths attacked the substation on Monday, same time  the swearing-in ceremony of Govermor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzst was ongoing.
It was yet to be ascertained what could have informed the irrational act of the attackers as at time of filing the report.
Following a distress call, it was learnt that officials of the Lagos  State Fire and Safety Service mobilised to the scene to put off the inferno.
Efforts of the fire fighters, according to witness prevented the fire from spreading to other properties within the vicinity.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident said no arrest has been made, adding that nvestigation into the case had commenced.
