Insecurity: GOC Commissions Operational Vehicles, Accommodation In Bauchi

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has said that,  the Chief of Army Staff  (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya is highly committed to improving the operational capabilities and welfare of troops and their families

He stated this in Bauchi, while officially commissioning  operational vehicles,  block of 12 flats soldiers’ accommodation, as well as street lights and naming of streets in Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi.

The GOC/Commander OPSH, who was the special guest of honour at the event,  said the vehicles were provided through the  intervention of the COAS to improve and upscale the operational capacities of troops. 

He said the gesture further validates the COAS’ vision of having,  “A Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Mission within a Joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria” and to provide the required resources and infrastructure to motivate Nigerian Army personnel in the discharge of their duties.

While commending the people of Bauchi State for the cordial and progressive civil-military relationship existing in the state, the GOC/Commander OPSH thanked the COAS for his unrelenting support to 3 Division and his belief in the capabilities of troops to defeat all aggressions against the nation.

 “what we are doing today has further affirmed the commitment of the Chief of Army Staff to improve the proficiency and family welfare of troops, which is in line with his mission of Professionalism, Readiness, Administration and Cooperation” General Ali averred.

The GOC and Commander OPSH, further charged the troops and their families to reciprocate the gesture by being committed to maintenance culture and professional conduct. 

He thanked the Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness,  Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu for the support enjoyed by troops from  the community leaders and good people of the state.

Earlier in his remarks,  the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General J.O. Adeyemo said, the commissioning of the equipment and infrastructures is part of the strides of the Nigerian Army leadership to improve the operational capacity and better living condition towards ensuring motivated personnel to effectively and professionally discharge their duties. 

He further  revealed that the occasion presented an opportunity for 33 Artillery Brigade to assess its effort towards realising the vision of the COAS.

Highpoint  of the event was a courtesy call on the Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman, commissioning of operational vehicles and remodelled soldiers accommodation as well as unveiling of street lights and naming of streets to improve navigation and security within Shadawanka Cantonment Bauchi
