Participants to the just concluded UNICEF training of teachers on child centred approach in focus LGEAs of Kaugama, Yankwashi and Chamo in Jigawa State have been urged to fully implement all the learning techniques they acquired during the training in their respective schools.
Making the call on participants of Chamo Ward in Dutse LGA, the training centre facilitator, Mrs Jamila Abba further stressed on the need for participants to be punctual to duty, improve in teaching capacity, ensure steady school environment, as well as good moral conduct.
Mrs Abba stressed that the essence of the five days training of teachers on child centred approach, is aimed at updating teachers training skills and teaching methodology to conform with present challenges in the profession.
She further said that part of the training concept is to improve teachers skills and teaching methodology on participants as part of teachers motivation for improved quality service delivery and management, planning and execution of schools retention to enhance improved quality teaching methodology on teachers across Jigawa State.
She commended participants’ punctuality during the five days workshop, saying that it contributed to the success of completion of the training without any hinderance and expressed delight over the performance of the teachers during the training, describing it as impressive.
Mal Isa Sabo Chamo, a teacher at Chamo Primary School, a participant, said that the seminar has broadened their knowledge on modern teaching techniques, especially in peculiar areas of school curriculum, teaching methodology, etc.
Also speaking, another participant, Mal. Nura Alhassan commended UNICEF and SUBEB for coming up with the initiative, as it affords teachers at basic levels to acquire modern teaching methods for advancement in teaching profession.
Earlier, the UNICEF, SUBEB Focal Person, Hajiya Umma Fanini said the training was organized as a result of the flood that affected various schools in the zone, where it took over some schools, while others were used to house some of the displaced households as a result
“UNICEF provides classes through Radio so that children that were left behind with their studies could cope up simultaneously,” she said.
