An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan will on Thursday July, 14 (today) deliver its judgement in the suit filed by the state’s deputy governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan against his planned impeachment by the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The judgment was initially slated for judgement on July 26 but changed via a notice communicated to all the Counsel in the suit on Wednesday by the Court.
It was learnt that the change in the date of the judgment might not be unconnected with the need to fast track the judgement due to the urgency of the case.
New Nigerian recalls that Oyo State House of Assembly at its plenary last Wednesday, July 6, issued a directive to the state Chief Judge, Justice Muntar Abimbola to
set up a seven man panel to investigate Olaniyan over allegations of gross misconduct.
With the latest development, Justice Ladiran Akintola will this Thursday give judgement on the case before his Court.
