Hosting African Games Catalyst For Development – LOC Boss Asare

The African Games is a catalyst for economic and sporting development of Ghana.

This is the strong submission of the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the 13th African Games Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare in an interview with your authoritative news platform in Accra on Wednesday.

Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare explained that the ultra modern sporting facilities that was constructed by Ghana to host the African Games fiesta for the first time will leave beyond this generation.

The excellent facilities made it possible for Ghana to host 52 countries that participated in the different sporting events.

“The African Games has enhanced our tourism, sport businesses and transport industry.” Dr. Kwaku Ofosu stated.

He added that the local currency has also benefited. “Our currency ‘cedi’ has also been strengthened because people came in with foreign currencies.”

Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare also further said, Ghana will focus on other sports rather than the usual football by building on four pillars which are: Facilities, Talentsz Coaches and resources for future glory.

Egypt will host the next edition of the African Games which started in Congo Brazzaville in 1965.
