Haemophilia Foundation Boss Gets Award Of Excellence

National Association of Northern Nigerian Students, have honoured the Executive Director of Haemophilia Foundation of Nigeria (HFN) Mrs. Megan Adediran with an Award of Excellence in recognition of her exemplary life style in helping the less privileged in the society particularly patients with Haemophilia.
Led by its National President, Comrade lbrahim Abdulraham, the association has over time monitored the activities of the foundation and came to the conclusion that the foundation under the watch and drive of executive director deserves accolade hence the award.
“We have with keen interest followed the activities of HFN, and have also noticed how dedicated Mrs. Adediran is to the plights of the less privileged in the society particularly patients with Haemophilia blood disorder and arrived at the conclusion that her kind is rare and decided to honour her to spur her to do more and encourage others to emulate her passion.”
Receiving the award Mrs. Adediran while explaining the reason for the HFN, thanked the association for the award and promised to do her best in bringing succour to patients with Haemophilia.
“We have partners that help in the provision of factors (drugs used by patients with Haemophilia to live normal lives). The HFN was founded by me when I discovered that my son has the blood disorder, and since then we have tried to help these patients lead normal lives.”
According to her, the HFN is currently working with government to add Haemophilia to their Non-communicable Diseases Policy since it’s now aware of the existence of the disorder.
“The HFN is open to all in terms of assistance and contributions. The disorder has no cure and it’s inherited though 30 per cent can occur in families without history.”
Other members of the association include; Comrade Muswanatu Iyasu, Treasurer and Comrade Bulus Ishaya, PRO.
