The people of Gudau Jola community, a town in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area have sent an SOS to kano State Government to intervene by fixing a portion of the highway which has been in a state of disrepair.

Our correspondent went on a tour of the 2.5 km long highway which serves as connecting channel to vehicles conveying goods and persons from Dungurawa to Gudau Jola Town, reported that users of the road classified as major and secondary find it difficult plying it, especially during the rainy season.

The road is important due to the strategic roles it plays in connecting various villagers in and around the axis.

Whenever the rainy season becomes more intense, the people of Gudau Jola and other villages sorrounding the area are cut off completely from all parts of the state, while others seek for alternative routes for vehicular movements.

Spokesperson of the community, Alhaji Muazu Wanzan Gudau Jola lamented the deplorable condition of the highway, saying socioeconomic activities had been grounded, affecting the fortunes of the people.

He added that the people of Gudau Jola, Yar Gudau, Zaura, Kirya, Kyauta Ruga, Dan Amar and some part of Masha villages use the road for decades which needs government intervention.

He however commended the new administration in the State for the determination of Governor Kabiru Yusuf to positively impact lives of people in the State.

He expressed optimism that Governor Yusuf would not hesitate to put smiles on the faces of people of the community by putting the road in good serviceable condition.
