*Dismisses rumours of Asake’s Withdrawal

A group, Think Tank for Quality Leadership and Good Governance, on Friday, called on political parties in Kaduna State to join forces with the Labour Party, to displace the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the March 11, 2023, Gubernatorial and State Assembly election.
The group said the story that the party’s Guber candidate, Hon. Jonathan Asake, has stepped down for the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is a rumour from the pit of hell, as a result, should be disregarded by the public.
According to Leader of the Group, High Chief Christopher Geoman, at a press conference in Kaduna, Asake, is the best man for the Kaduna Governorship job based on his track records and will never step down for any candidate.
“The story that Labour Party is forming a merger with the PDP, should be discarded as what it is, this is a rumour from the pit of hell. His Excellency, Jonathan Asake, has not stepped down for anyone and he is the best candidate, come March 11th 2023.
“We call on our supporters to come out enmass to pour out their frustration in the ballot box against the rubbery that happened at the presidential election.
“Asake, has been tested, trusted and the most qualified for the job. He remains the candidate of the Labour Party and has our support for the governorship election”.
On his part, Chief Morrison Ikpeamaeze, Chairman, All Kaduna State LP Support Groups, appealed to the party’s supporters not to relent in mobilizing for their candidate ahead of the Guber election, despite the rumour.
Another member of the Think Tank, Daniel Ejembi, assures that the best thing that can come out of Kaduna state is Jonathan Asake.
“People should not be discouraged because the oppositions are already scared, that was why they are going round with the rumour that our principal has stepped down for PDP candidate, they are lying because they were threatened by the last election.
“The Obidient movement is an organic movement and our decision is applicable to all labour Party’s candidate in the upcoming election.” Ejembi said.
Don Olivera Idahosa, another member of the group, appealed to security agencies in the State to protect members of Labour Party, especially those in the Southern Part of Kaduna, against harassment by members of other political parties.
“We appeal to security agencies in Kaduna State, to call members of opposition parties to order for their continuous harassment of our members in zone 3. After the presidential election last Saturday, we discovered the high level at which members of our party were being harassed, we think nobody should continue to harass our members in that manner.
“We are law abiding people as a group and as party and we are not ready to join issues with anybody. And we want to tell the people of Kaduna State, especially those of us that are Obidient, who want a better Kaduna State, to join forces together and make sure, we come out on 11th and vote for Labour in all positions without fear or intimidation, because we can never be intimidated.” He noted.
