Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has appealed to groups and individuals fuelling breaches of security in Plateau State, to allow peace to return to the state.

Engineer Sule made the call while speaking as the chairman of the 31st-38th combined virtual convocation ceremony, of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, on Friday.

While recalling with nostalgia the rich experiences of his youth days as a student of Zang Commercial School, Bukuru Technical College, as well as the Plateau State Polytechnic, the governor called on all those responsible for the atmosphere of insecurity in Plateau State, to rethink and allow peace to reign.

“We lived peacefully back then, enjoying our lives. I want peace to return back to Plateau State so that our children can also enjoy similar experience,” he said.

Engineer Sule appreciated his Plateau State counterpart, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, for inviting him to attend the event, stressing that he found it necessary to attend the convocation ceremony despite his tight schedule mostly because of his love for education, particularly technical and vocational education.

The Governor equally appreciated the former executive secretary of the TETFUND, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro, for the tremendous impact he made towards the development of tertiary institutions in both Plateau and Nasarawa States, as well as the country at large.

On his part, Plateau State governor, Rt. Hon Simon Bako Lalong, thanked Engineer Sule for finding time to personally attend the convocation ceremony.

The climax of the event saw Engineer Sule decorate the Plateau State governor, Lalong with the fellowship of the Plateau State Polytechnic, as well as the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Wase.
