Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has described the passing of Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim as both painful and personal loss for him who fathered him as a trusted confidant.
The governor was in Azad Palace of the late Ohinoyi on Monday to pay condolence visit to the family as he lamented the untimely exit of the traditional icon, whose vacuum he said, will take the entire state sometime to fill.
Governor Bello, who had earlier relocated to his country home in Okene on Sunday when he got wind of the death of the paramount ruler, noted that the late Ohinoyi was renowned not only for his role as a traditional ruler, but as a manager of conflict.
“He was a distinguished scholar in Islamic and cultural affairs and his contributions were truly exceptional not only in the progress of Kogi State but throughout Nigeria” the governor said.
He thanked the cream of empathisers who thronged the scene with their messages of condolence to Anebira over the passing of the revered royal father, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland saying, “I have lost a father figure and a trusted confidant with the passing of Sa’aki”.
Extolling the virtues of the fallen hero, governor Bello said that the lat Ohinoyi was a distinguished scholar of Islam and cultural affairs whose contributions have been truly exceptional, not only in the progress of Kogi State but throughout Nigeria.
His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, the governor remarked, was an epitome of peace, security, economic prosperity, and development in Ebiraland.
He advised the immediate family of the Royal Father to find solace in the impactful and fulfilling life of legacy that he lived while his resign lasted.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Prince Nazi Ado Ibrahim, the eldest son of the late traditional ruler was full of appreciation to the governor for his showers of encomiums on their father.
Prince Nazi Ado Ibrahim commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his fraternal support throughout their father’s life and his valuable contributions during the funeral preparations.
In his vote of thanks, Colonel Aminu Ado Ibrahim encouraged the people of Ebiraland to uphold the legacy of peace, unity, and progress that were the hallmarks of their father’s reign.
He also expressed his appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for his unwavering support to the family during the monarch’s reign.
Recall that the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim died in the early hours of Sunday 29th of October, 2023 in an Abuja hospital and later interred around 6pm in Okene.
