Governor Bala Mohammed has presented to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, nominees for appointment into the executive seats of chairmen of the 20 Local government councils in the state.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Abubakar Yakubu Suleiman who on Tuesday announced the nominees’ presentation by the governor, said “the House has received a message from the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad requesting for screening and confirmation of Local Government Areas Caretaker Chairmen and their Deputies.”
While presenting the message as addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman during plenary, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu said that the request follows the expiration of the tenure of the elected Local Government Chairmen and their Deputies.
He read the nominees to the lawmakers as Alkaleri – Chairman and Deputy, Bala Ibrahim Pali and Muhammad Idris Bappa; Bauchi – Chairman and Deputy, Baba Musa and Bala Mato; Bogoro – Chairman and Deputy Markus Bitrus and Emmanuel Barnabas; Dambam, Chairman and Deputy Muhammad Sabo Joji and Ilya Isah Dagauda while Darazo has Zakari Inuwa Labaran and Samaila Shehu as Chairman and Deputy respectively.
Also included in the nominees are: Dass – Chairman, Ado Maigoro and Deputy -Yusuf Wakili; Gamawa has Nasiru Bakura as Chairman with Salisu Dahiru as Deputy; Ganjuwa has Mohammad Idris as Chairman with Ibrahim Shehu Baba as Deputy; Giade Chairman is Abubakar Nawaila with Abdullahi Idris as Deputy; while Itas/Gadau has Abubakar Bello as Chairman with the post of Deputy goes to Yakubu Sadiku.
Others in the list are Jama’are Chairman is Inuwa Moisha with Saleh Muhammad as his Deputy; the position of Katagum Chairman goes to Umaru Hassan with Abdulhamid Datti as Deputy; Kirfi has Muhammad Tukur Adamu as Chairman while the seat of Deputy Chairman goes Muhammad Bashar; Misau has Salisu Hussaini as Chairman with Sallau Garba Tela as Deputy; Ibrahim Zubairu Mato is nominated as Chairman of Ningi LGA with Muhammad Lawan Gudduba as his Deputy.
The rest are Shira Chairman is Babangida Muhammad and would be Deputize by Adamu Usman; Tafawa Balewa has Sama’ila Wakili as Chairman and Salisu Adamu as his Deputy; Toro LGA has popular Danlami Garba Abubakar as Chairman with the seat of Deputy goes to Auwal Abba; the Chairman nominee of Warji LGA is Ibrahim Ismail with Muhammad Sani as Deputy; and lastly Zaki has Abdullahi T. Musa as Chairman while the seat of Deputy goes to Mamuda Aminu.
The House however resolved to screen the nominees on Tuesday, 20th December 2022 after the House resumed from recess as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
