Ghastly Accident On Zaria-,Kano Highway Claims 12 Persons, 30 Goats – NSCDC

A ghastly auto accident has claimed 12 lives along Zaria-Kano Highway.

This was disclosed by the Disaster Management Unit, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),

Kaduna State Command Headquarters, yesterday.

It was gathered that the accident was as result of suspected sleeping on wheels by the  driver of  the articulated vehicle close to Gazara Junction, old Tashar Yari Motor Park, Along Kano- Zaria Expressway at Makarfi LGA, Kaduna State.

“The cause of the accident was as sleeping or drowsiness on the steering while driving the lorry,” the update informed.

The update from NSCDC informed that the accident occured on Monday March 4, at about 4pm. 

Giving a breakdown of the casualty, the update informed that 11 person’s and the lorry driver on board  and 30 goats died on the spot.

“Personnel of the  Disaster Management Unit of NSCDC Makarfi Division worked in collaboration with sister security agencies in the local government area in the following.

“Evacuating the dead victims from the accident spot to the hospital for medical confirmation.

While the goats are taking off the road too.

“Also the property of the victims are being taking off the accident spot for safe keeping,” it informed.
