GDSS Zaria Class Of ’83 Honours FRSC Corps Marshal Dauda Biu

The Class of ’83 of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Kofar Tukur Tukur, Zaria, has honoured Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu for his appointment as the Chief executive officer of the FRSC.

In a colourful celebration at their 40th anniversary held at the Ogano Hotel, GRA Zaria on Saturday, Corps Marshal Dauda Ali Biu was presented with a plaque and certificate of honour by the Emir of Zazzau.

Speaking at the occasion, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli said, the Class of ’83 of GDSS Zaria has become a symbol of example to other old boys. 

The emir was represented by the Dan Isan Zazzau, Alh. Umaru Shehu Idris, Asst. Secretary Zazzau Emirate.

He commended the efforts put in place by the Class of ’83 in bringing themselves together after 40 years.

Bamalli also appreciated the recognition of the emirate by the Class of ’83 for the invitation to be part of the 40th anniversary celebration.

The emir urged them to maintain the good initiative of uniting themselves as one family.

In his message, the Chairman of the occasion, ABU Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala who was represented by the Director Institute of Education, Professor Bashir Maina congratulated the Class of ’83 for their 40th anniversary.

Bala called on similar sets of old boys of schools to emulate Class of ’83 of GDSS Zaria by reassembling themselves to foster their relationship that has a long history.

The Guest Speaker, Mr. Samaila Makama Maude who was the first Vice Principal of the school, said it is a moment of joy and happiness to meet once again the students they taught 40 years ago, while they were adolescents, now they are grand fathers and mothers.

Maude urged them to keep on not to get tired and also to continue tracing their members for more relationship.

In his remarks, awardee  Corps Marshal Dauda Biu expressed appreciation to all members of Class of ’83 for the honour done to him.

Dauda Biu appealed to all members to be part of the move of assisting GDSS Zaria as part of pay back.

The Corps Marshal said he is always ready to give assistance to the school, particularly in the area of securing the  environment.

He said very soon, the FRSC will build its office in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, because the present office is being hired.
