Katsina State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has deployed 477 personnel and 15 vehicles including ambulances at strategic roads locations in the state to strengthen its response during Easter period.
Speaking to journalists on his Easter message, the newly posted Sector Commander in charged of Katsina state, Ibrahim Maiyaki Bazama said the Command has stepped up operations to ensure free flow of traffic and accident free roads and highways across the state.
While greeting wit road users on the Easter period, Corps Commander Maiyaki Bazama emphasized on the reduction of accident rate in the state and assured to do more through aggressive public enlightenment.
Sector Commander, Ibrahim Maiyaki Bazama acknowledged the compliance of people with the traffic management.attributing it to the Command constant public awareness programmes.
He noted that, the increased deployment of patrol personnel to strategic locations has also helped to reduce carnage on Katsina roads in his few months in the state.
Maiyaki Bazama enjoined roads users to obey traffic rules and regulations in addition of using good tyres, installing speed limiting devices, avoiding over loading, wrongful overtaking and over speeding
These, he said are critical to safety on the roads. assuring that, “this period during the Command’s Operations all the our roadside clinics will be fully equipped and ready for any eventuality and we also deployed our ambulances at strategic locations in the event of anything.”
Sector Commander Ibrahim Maiyaki Bazama reiterated that, ” Our patrol men are on the roads and some are in locations that are known to have traffic gridlock to ensure that there will be free flow of traffic because that is one of the things we want to achieve.”
