The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Oyo State Sector Command, Corps Commander Joshua O Adekanye on Friday, hinted that the Command has deployed 1,700 personnel for Easter celebration.
Corps Commander Adekanye who dropped this hint to newsmen in his office in Ibadan, said this is to ensure visibility on our highways and to achieve a hitch free Easter celebration.
He declared that the 1700 personnel will include 22 Special Marchals, 2 Patrol Vehicles State of the art ambulance, a heavy-duty Tow trucks and power bikes for the Easter celebration across the State
According to him, the special patrol which its objectives is to reduce Road Traffic Crashes, traffic fatalities and Road Traffic Injuries which commenced on Thursday 6th April to end on Thursday 13th April, 2023.
” The essence of these deployments is for effective Traffic Management which has led to increased visibility on all major routes across the State”, he said.
Corps Commander Adekanye stressed that the Command has engaged various Stakeholders like the Park Management system to cooperate with FRSC during this period.
Emphasizing that the Command will sustain its aggressive Public Enlightenment Campaign in major Parks across the State to ensure maximum compliance to Traffic Rules and Regulations, he said the Command will apprehend vehicles caught in the act of Overloading, Use of Phone while driving, Drivers license Violation, Dangerous Driving and Driving against Traffic.
Corps Commander Adekanye pointed out that the Command is in collaborating with Sister Security Agencies like NPF, NSCDC, FERMA, NIG ARMY, health providers and private hospitals for effective intelligence gathering, data collection analysis and prompt attention to Road Traffic Crash Victims.
The FRSC Sector Commander then called residents in Oyo State to exhibits high level of discipline on the Road during and after the Easter celebration and wish them safe driving this Easter celebration, saying, ” remember, only the living celebrates”.
