FMC Katsina Converted To Federal Teaching Hospital

Federal Medical Centre Katsina has been converted to a Federal Teaching Hospital.

The hospital is to serve for clinical training of medical students of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.

The Medical Director of the Centre, Dr. Bello Suleiman Muhammad disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina.

According to him, the conversion was sequel to an earlier approval by President Muhammadu Buhari that sealed a memorandum of understanding between the Federal Government and Katsina State Government.

Dr. Bello Suleiman revealed that efforts have been ongoing many years to convert the Federal Medical Centre Katsina to the Federal Teaching Hospital for the training of Medical Students of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.

He said the MOU was signed on  December 8, 2020 by Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari and Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire on behalf of the federal government.

Dr. Suleiman Bello commended all the stakeholders who contributed immensely to the achievement.
