Fertiliser Blending Plant Will Reduce Poverty In Kadunà State – el-Rufai

Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State, has inaugurated OCP Fertiliser Blending plant towards bringing income that helps to feed families  and  reduce poverty in the state. 

The governor in company of his deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa, Senator Uba Sani, Senator Representing Kaduna Central and other government officials on Wednesday, inaugurated OCP Fertiliser Blending plant located  along Kaduna-Abuja Highway, next door to the Olam Hatchery. 

OCP Africa of Morocco has built its first fertilizer blending plant in Nigeria within Kaduna’s Green Agri-allied Industrial Zone (GAAIZ). 

Speaking at the inauguration of the plant, Governor Nasir el-Rufai said that, “Every new factory, every new shop, every new park implies more jobs, bringing income that helps to feed families and reduce poverty in our state. 

“OCP locating a fertilizer blending plant in Kaduna State also expands access to fertilizer for our farmers,” he said.

OCP Fertiliser plant is a blending fertiliser plant sitting on a 10-hectare parcel of land. 

It has  administrative building, quality assurance laboratory, staff canteen, truck park, powerhouse, fire fighting, water treatment plant, weighbridge and a model farm. 

With a production capacity of 120MT/HR and a warehouse capacity of 25,000MT to store raw materials and finished goods.

 The bulk blending plant is equipped with 5 macro-nutrient and 3 micro-nutrient dosing systems to blend different grades of crop and soil specific fertilizers. 

The state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with the latest technology for both soil and fertilizer analysis to ensure that the quality of its product meets nutrient specification.

The blending plant also operates on a Toll Blending partnership arrangement that allows industry players and brand owners to leverage on OCP Africa’s production capacity and expertise to provide quality fertilizers to their customers.

The production complex, has currently engages over 250 persons in different functions and is adequately equipped with standard roads, drainages, and other facilities to provide a conducive operating environment for all workers and service providers within the complex.
