In a heartfelt response to the devastating incident that occurred, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has extended condolences to the families affected by the fatal accident involving a Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) 18-seater bus.
The ill-fated KTSTA bus, en route from its office in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State to Abuja, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, met with tragedy due to ongoing repairs on the Kaduna/Abuja highway.
“The construction work required diversion of traffic, with contractors placing heavy machinery in close proximity to the area, inadvertently contributing to the unfortunate incident,” the statement said.
Regrettably, it said seven lives, including two children and the bus driver, were lost at the scene of the accident.
Governor Radda expressed deep sympathy and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Katsina State.
However, the governor, on behalf of the entire people of the state, offers his heartfelt prayers to Allah (SWT), seeking solace for the departed souls and beseeching the Almighty to grant them the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus.
Accordingly, Katsina State Government remains committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and would work diligently to prevent such tragic incidents in the future, the Governor assured.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda urged people of the state to come together and support one another during these trying times.
