A former Deputy State Governor of Borno State and current Managing Director/CEO, Nigerian Maritime Services Limited, Hon. Adamu Shettima. Yuguda Dibal  has completely  condemned media reports on social media that have gone viral against All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023  Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu attributing the statement to His Eminence, The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Saad III.

He also asserted that  the statement is fake and fabricated by mischief makers,  calculated at smearing the image and integrity of  royal father who cannot go so low whatever the circumstances that may be to say such things.

Adamu Shettima Yuguda Dibal  who is also a  confirmed  Member of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) added that there was never a time the Sultan of Sokoto said such  a thing,  neither can he say such  as a highly and respected traditional leader who the Northerners cherish and not only them, but  the entire  Muslim community.

Dibal stated this on  Thursday during a telephone conversation with our Maiduguri Correspondent,  noting that, “I was even in a meeting with the Sultan of Sokoto yesterday (Wednesday) and His Eminence never said such a thing.

“All these are fake news and fabricated stories by some paid journalists who we learnt recently that that have been hired to engage in political write ups against political opponents and rivals  purposely to rubbish the integrity and political ambitions of some politicians.

“And this is one of them as far as we are concerned and we shall not tolerate such if the mischief makers will not stop at that and rather engage in politically  campaign based issues in the overall  interest of our democracy.

” We as politicians who have the interests of the people at heart, as such, cannot fold our arms and just watch people writing  anything and just sending or posting it on social media without checks and knowing the implications and consequences of what they are doing or saying”, Adamu Dibal said.

He further cautioned journalists to be careful and watchful of these elements who conspire to truncate the forthcoming general elections instead of entrenching the  democracy.

” You people as journalists should know this is the time these kind of politicians will like to do everything possible within their reach to make sure that things never work fine and successful  if it is not in their favor including the social media handlers and influences,” Dibal added.
