A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Oyo State, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu on Thursday, said that Oyo State has no alternative than to vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, in the 2023 presidential election.
Dr Abidikugu, a Nigerian UK based medical consultant, made this known while welcoming the party Presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his running mate and other big wigs of PDP into Oyo State
According to the PDP Chieftain, the love the people of Oyo State have for Alhaji Atiku is a confirmation that he would emerge victorious in the state and country at large, adding that the tempo demonstrated during the “Freedom Walk” in honour of Atiku and the way they were cheering him up in the presence of G5 governors during Governor Seyi Makinde campaign flag-off at Mapo penultimate week were clear signals of love for the PDP Presidential candidate
While appealing to party members and leaders to see Atiku project as their own to ensure that the PDP emerges victorious at all levels ranging from the Presidency, Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly, Abidikugu noted that having the PDP at all the positions would be a huge benefit to Oyo State.
” What should be the major task ahead of us at this crucial time is to ensure that we substantially increase the number of votes for Atiku in the 2023 election compared to the 2019 number of votes we gave him in Oyo State even though he still won, we should ensure that we deliver Oyo State to Atiku by a landslide”, he said.
“It is our desire that Alhaji Atiku, Governor Makinde and all other party candidates emerge victorious in the state and Nigeria as a whole,” he declared..
