The gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Kaduna State for the 2023 general elections, Honourable Jonathan Asake, has said that equity, fairness and justice are the ingredients needed in the state to make it a pace setter in all spheres of life in the country.
Speaking to New Nigerian in Kaduna on Monday, the gubernatorial candidate noted that peace is the essential ingredient needed for the state to achieve greatness in other fields of endeavour, adding that with peace in the state other sectors would blossom and the sky will be the beginning for the good people of the state.
“As a gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party, the party is guided with issues based and how best to move this country from the stage it has found itself to a country where its citizens will be proud of. Under my watch as the governor of Kaduna state if elected, justice, equity and fairness will be accorded to all citizens irrespective of any different, this l believed the entire state will move as one entity and be able to fight any enemy of progress.”
He added, “As it is today, most communities in the state have been abandoned by the natives following the activities of attackers who killed, maimed and destroyed property in an unimaginable proportion. Farmers no longer go to farm to cultivate their farmland while those that managed to cultivate find it very difficult to harvest their farm crops. This is a fact that foodstuffs will be very scare and prices very high because of security challenges in the state.”
Jonathan Asake explained that in the state, education has been bastardised as many children no longer go to school, while other sectors have seriously been battered, leaving many people roaming around without anything meaningful doing for a living.
“With the situation in the state presently, many are living from hand to mouth. They cannot move freely from one place to the other because of insecurity. Moving within town has become a threat because of the unknown as life is becoming more unbearable for many people. People are yearning for positive change that will give them hope of living and that is what Labour Party stands for, to give the people hope and to restore confidence in the lives of the good people of Kaduna State,” he explained.
He added, “It is no longer a situation of trying to persuade the people but the truth is that people have given up hope with the government of the day, our people can not continue to be in a state of uncertainty, the government of Labour Party in Kaduna state if elected has a blueprint that will definitely change things for good for all and sundry and give the people every good reason of being citizens of the state.”
“My government if elected, will be a government of the people where your tribe, religion or section will not be the basis of consideration but your ability to contribute positively to the growth and development of the entire state will be the yardstick of giving you the responsibility to showcase your potentials to contribute to the benefits of all in the state and the country at large,” he assured.
The gubernatorial candidate enjoined the people of the state to shun politics that would put the state into perpetual backwardness but elect candidate that has the potentials to turn around things for good and restore the loss glory Kaduna state is known with as the capital of Northern Nigeria in all aspects of life.
