The Chief Imam of the Eid Prayer ground at Government Day Secondary School (GSS) Makarfi Road Rigasa Kaduna, Imam Rabi’u Al-Tanko, has called on the  Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani to emulate the characters of other God’s messengers in safeguarding the interests of the entire good people of the state.

Imam Al-Tanko made this comment during his sermon after the Eid prayers on Wednesday, saying his emergence as a the  governor was a choice of God.

He added that, now that there has been a change of government and new set of leaders,  he congratulated all the new governors for getting the position.

He said, “Uba Sani, you should know that God has chosen you to be the leader of all the good people of Kaduna State, and we are calling on your attention to know that you are now a messenger, and the messenger of God sent to the good people of Kaduna, and act like other messengers of God have done in safeguarding the interests of the whole nation.

“Oh Muslims, there is nothing left for you but to obey this government because it is the responsibility of the leaders to look onto you who is below him and for you to pray for him. Do it because if the leader is good, then other people are good, because if the leader is bad, then other people and town are bad.

“Governor Uba Sani, may God help you alongside with other governors. Just as it started with Bismillah, we pray it ends with Alhamdulillah for all of you and for all of us, because the Alhamdulillah is not only for you, but also for us entirely. So for that, we are praying that may God transform all our leaders to be better, and discharge their duties effectively.” He said

According to him, Sallah periods are times for happiness,  friendship to bring happiness to families, relatives, extend friendship pleasantries, give charity to the poor and to relatives in abundance.

“Eid periods are time for forgiveness, a day of mutual sympathy and extending greetings among the people, parents and relatives.

“After this day of Eid, there will be more additional three days that someone is expected to perform his rituals of ram sacrifice, eating and engaging in reciting the Zikir, that’s between Wednesday to Saturday, but it is preferred to do it on the day of Eid while there will be no fasting within these days.

“You should know that Eid is not a day of shedding blood, and it is not a day to brag that you bought a ram of a million Naira, hence you will not be rewarded for your ego, because God said that  reward will only be given to those who do it for the sake of God,” Imam Al-Tanko emphasized.

He therefore,  called on women to be God fearing, and be of good character, improve their relationship with their husbands, and improve their homes, because if they are guided, then their children will be good and so will be the communities, but if they are not responsible, then the whole community will become corrupt.
