The Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has advised All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kaduna State Branch to organize a sensitization workshop to enlighten farmers on how to go about all year round farming.

Emir Bamalli  gave the advise in his Palace, when State AFAN Chairman,  Alhaji Nuhu Aminu led members to present farm inputs to the emir as a grand patron of the association.

He said, farming is the only way that remains for the people to sustain themselves as  industries have failed because of power shortage in the country.

The traditional ruler emphasized that if farmers are enlightened on the new technologies, definitely people will be engaged throughout the year.

According to him, when youth are engaged fully,  the issues of drug abuse and other social vices will be history and the society itself will be free from any kind of wrong doing.

Bamalli assured  AFAN that he is going back into farming as he loves farming and urged those that benefited to use the inputs judiciously as a compliment to the government’s gesture.

He said he will ensure that all his traditional title holders participate in  farming activities with full force.

Earlier in his remarks, the Kaduna State AFAN Chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu told the emir that they were at the palace to present farm inputs to him as their Grand Patron as directed by the National President, Arc. Kabiru Ibrahim.

Aminu said, the programme has been flagged off at Benue State by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,

The chairman said, the farm inputs given are 50%l per cent  free, a farmer will only pay half before collecting them.

He said AFAN has succeeded in reaching Birnin Gwari and farmers have been part of beneficiaries of the government’s intervention.

“AFAN will continue to support government policies on agricultural programmes for the benefit of Nigerian farmers,” he assured.
