Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), has conducted local government and councilor election across Ebonyi state.
It was observed that some political parties participated while some declined to be part of the election.
Some of the parties that participated are APC, Labour Party, PDP among others, while APGA, YPP and some others refused to be part of the election.
In a visit to some polling units in Abakaliki such as, New Layout Unit 001,002,003,004, among others, people were seen casting their votes to the candidate of their choice, while the electoral officers were also busy issuing ballot paper to the electorate.
In some polling units, the rate of turnout are encouraging while some places recorded low turnout.
Some of the voters like Ogoke Ngozi, Rose Ujoh, Uju Agbodike all expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the election saying that it is peaceful and well organized.
Security agencies like Civil Defence, Police were also seen in different polling units to ensure security.
