The Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai on Tuesday distributed 13 Peugeot 307 to third class chiefs to enable them discharge their duties effectively.
The Governor presented the official vehicles to 13 third class chiefs on Tuesday at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna.
The Governor said, the traditional institutions continue to play a tremendous role in ensuring harmonious coexistence among the citizens of the state.
He explained that, he observed that some traditional rulers use public transport as they lack vehicles.
“We hope that the 13 official vehicles distributed to third class chiefs will ease in carrying out their functions effectively,” he said.
He urged them to put more efforts in carrying out their assignments.
He disclosed that, more vehicles are coming for the 2nd class and 3rd class chiefs.
In a remark, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, thanked the State Government for providing the 13 Peugeot 307 to the 13 third class Chiefs.
He said the gesture will go a long way in improving and enhancing effective services to the people.
The 13 beneficiaries are, Saminaka Chiefdom, Kumana Chiefdom, Godogodo Chiefdom, Kaninkon Chiefdom, Fantswan Chiefdon, Nyenkpa Chiefdom, Kurama Chiefdom, Piriga Chiefdom, Tsam Chiefdom, Takad Chiefdom, Ayu Chiefdom, Ikulu Chiefdom, Anghan Chiefdom.
