As Muslims worldwide celebrate this year’s Eid El Kabir, Oyo State Police Command has deployed police personnel to worship centers, recreational and other public facilities in and across the state.
This was made known in a statement to journalists in Ibadan by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso.
CP Williams in the statement, stressed that the deployment of Police personnel will build the confidence in the minds of residents in the state to go about their lawful activities and also enjoy the Eid-el Kabir celebration with families and loved ones.
The Commissioner of Police hinted that “Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other Heads of Departments have been mandated to organize, lead, supervise and ensure adequate and effective deployment of personnel to various areas of security interest throughout the State.”
” The citizenry will also experience confidence – building intensive patrols around public spaces, coordinated stop and search activities, high octane visibility patrols on highways and sequenced convoy patrols with relevant security agencies across the length and breadth of the state”, he said.
CP Williams added, ” so also, the Command’s Monitoring Unit and X-squad have been marshaled to ensure sanity from the officers and men as they discharge their lawful duties in compliance with all standard operational procedures.”
The Commissioner of Police said further that ” viable intelligence networks have been strategically established among relevant sister agencies to beam spotlight on Recreational centers, Media houses, Educational institutions, Places of worship, Public spaces and other Critical Infrastructures in the State.
