As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts in other parts of the world to celebrate Sallah, a Christian leader, Pastor Yohana Buru, has enjoined the Muslim community to bring to bear the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir to the peace, unity and development of Nigeria.
Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Kaduna made the call while donating some food items to some Muslims for the sallah celebrationm stressing that there was the need for Nigerians to make sacrifice for the survival of the country.
Buru said the Church gathered foodstuff and distributed to Muslims in order to cushion the hardship some were going through in a view to making them happy during the Sallah celebrations.
He explained that for some years now, there had been mutual relationship between the Christians and Muslims in Kaduna attributing it to efforts of leaders of the two religions to come together for better understanding.
He added that it was aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance between the two followers with a view of creating an enabling environment in the state and the country as a whole.
Meanwhile Reverend David Abaya and Evangelist Jonathan appealed to the wealthy individuals, philanthropists and government to cater for the destitutes, Almajirai and IDPs for Allah’s Blessing.
Receiving the foodstuffs in his house, Mallam Abdulrahman Mohamed thanked the Christian clerics for donating the materials for the benefit of the less privileged in the society.
Abdulrahman said, ”You give us hope by donating the foodstuffs to us because some of us have given up hope of providing for our families with anything, in view of the hard times we are passing through in the country.”
