Education: Salihijo Ahmad Foundation Enrolls 55 Adamawa Orphans, Vulnerable Children To School

In its effort to provide life changing opportunities for children and women in undeserved communities, the Salihijo Ahmad Foundation (SAF),  has enrolled55 orphans and vulnerable children to school in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The Executive Director of SAF, Hajiya Zainab Ahmad, who made this  disclosure  at the inauguration of the foundation in Mayo-Belwa, maintained that such  gesture is geared towards offering quality humanitarian services to  the less privileged in societies. 
According to her,  the foundation would take care of the children’s school fees, educational materials and Islamic education at the basic level.
“The pilot programme which was kicked off with 55 beneficiaries that have been carefully mapped, and enrolled in school, will have the foundation taking care of their fees
*This event is the beginning of other great impacts, the foundation intends to execute other projects in the coming months.
“The project includes girl-child counselling, sustainable education and training programme, among others”, the director stated.
Ahmad also hinted that the foundation will enroll more children in September.
She enjoined beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and advised parents to cooperate with the school authorities and ensure their wards attend school regularly.
Speaking at the occasion, the Education Secretary in Mayo-Belwa Local Government, Malam Bawuro Garu, commended the foundationfor contributing positively to education in the area.
Garu called on wealthy individuals and groups to emulate the foundation in touching the lives of less privilege  in the area.
Malam Sale Dahiru, the Director of Administration, Nurul Ulum Academy, an Islamic institution, said “the sponsorship is timely because it has been a challenge to some parents.”
According to him, they are talented pupils with poor background, while some are orphans with no oneto pay their school fees, but with the sponsorship, they will succeed.
Hauwa Bakari, who spoke on behalf of parents appreciated the gesture and prayed for the success ofthe foundation to do more.
Highlight of the event was the  distribution of exercise books and school bags to the beneficiaries at Nurul Ulum Academy.
Salihijo Ahmad Foundation SAF, is a Non Governmental Orgaisationfounded by the family in memoriam of the late phenomenal Philanthropist, Mallam Salihijo Ahmad.
New Nigerian reports that the late Salihijo Ahmad is still impacting lives positively 23 years after death.
