The state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoroemegha has called for the cancellation of National Assembly results in some places in Ebonyi State over alleged electoral malpractice witnessed in those areas.

Chief Emegha, while addressing journalists in his office at old government house, Abakaliki, alleged that the opposition parties in the state connived with security agencies to manipulate the outcome of the election in some places in the state and therefore, called for the cancellation of those places.

He noted that Some of the places where such manipulations took place are:Afikpo North, Ezza North, Ohaukwu and Ivo, among others.

The party chairman further alleged that the opposition also connived with INEC officials to perpetrate the evil, saying that the result is not acceptable to the party.

“Places like Afikpo North, there was a lot of manipulations from the opposition party voiding our already captured votes. The were conniving with the security agencies to bring out our ballot papers that is in favor of APC ; void it by using ink to thumb print double.

“If you can do a forensic examination on the thump printed ballot papers, you discover that the first thumbprint is different from the second one.

“We decided not to go on confrontational level, we decided to go to INEC for cancellation of such areas. Such thing also happened at Ezza North, Ohaukwu, and Ivo. Manipulations of taking the ballot papers , using the BIVERS to capture it properly and then collected it from our fathers and mothers who are prepared to vote for APC .

“The now connive with workers of INEC to run into the bush or private house to go and thumbprint for the opposition parties while the intentions of the card owners is to vote for APC but they deceived them and move the materials to a building and thumbprinted against the party.

“The results from those areas mentioned, are not acceptable to us.

In her response , the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs.Paulin Onyekachi stated that INEC is never a party to any malpractice witnessed during the election as alleged but will always work hard to make sure that there is free and credible election.

Also, when contacted for his reaction, the police PPRO , SP Chris Anyanwu said he is in Abuja, now.
