Easter:  Remain Hopeful, Unshaken, Pray For Safe Return Of Chibok Girls – Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Saturday asked Christians in Nigeria to continue to pray for the safe return of the Chibok girls taken into captivity of suspected Boko Haram insurgents over three years ago.
The governor in his Easter message made available to newsmen in Ibadan by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka urged parents and members of the Chibok community to remain hopeful and unshaken in their belief that the girls would soon return to their warm embrace.
He maintained that in the spirit of the season, Nigerians especially the Christian faithful to rally behind the distraught parents of the missing girls and show them uncommon love and solidarity.
According to him, as the search for the girls continues,there is the need for the Christians to imbibe the spirit of love and selflessness exhibited by Jesus Christ, as they celebrate this year’s Easter.
He pointed out that the time has come for Christians in Nigeria to continue to pray for the country to overcome the current socio-economic challenges.
“Easter is not about wining and dining alone. Rather, it is an occasion to exhibit love to one another as demonstrated by God. Out of His love for mankind, God offered Jesus Christ, His only begotten son, to die for our sins and to give us life more abundantly”he said.
The governor while urging christian faithful to sustain their prayers and piety beyond this season, stated that their supplications would be manifest in their individual lives and in the life of the country, saying, “we should, therefore, eschew any divisive tendency, violence and other behaviours that are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ”.
Expressing appreciation to the Christians for their fervent prayers for the the country and Oyo state during the 40-day fasting, Governor Ajimobi assured that his administration would continue to work hard to ensure better living condition for workers and citizens of the state.
He stressed that his administration’s agriculture revolution is aimed at rejigging the economy of the state was on full course and would soon begin to bear fruits, saying, “I want to reassure workers and citizens that our administration is on course for the economic revival of the state through the exploitation of the agric value chain. Soon all our efforts in this direction will begin to bear fruits.”
