In a bid to mark the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christians all over the world have been called upon to imbibe the spirit of humility which Christ portrays, to stand firm in Him.
Reverend Philip Omoniyi of Bethel Baptist Church, Kawo on Sunday admonished Christians to be Christlike and be in sober reflection for Christ who died for their sins and brought life after death.
The clergyman spoke on the resurrection power, reading from Phillipians Chapter 1:17 to 21.
He said the resurrection Sunday is powerful, hence the power of death could not withhold Jesus from rising.
He said, the resurrection of Christ is to live with him and to die with him is gain, adding that when you are in Christ, life will be beautiful here and afterwards.
Reverend Omoniyi noted that the death of Jesus Christ was in a most shameful way, stressing that if you ignore Christ today, you’re nailing him to the cross for the second time.
He added that the death of Christ on the cross also signifies a symbol of glory of his resurrection.
Speaking further, he said, “However Jesus’ death has brought life.”
Reading from Romans 8:7, he said that those controlled by their sinful nature cannot please God, “Christians are to surrender into resurrection power for one to be alive with Christ.”
He concluded that Christians are to be faithful in all their endeavours, stressing that with humility, they should be rest assured that his resurrection has brought eternal life to faithful stewards who are to reign in his glory afterwards.
