*IBEDC promises  to restore electricity in Ibadan, other towns

The Oyo State Government and the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), on Thursday agreed to resolve their  differences on debts recovery bids 
At the power supply to the Oyo state Secretariat was cut by the IBDEC over a debt of N450 million while Oyo state government on its part sealed off some IBEDC business offices over unpaid over N400million tax 
The truce between the  two parties finally came at a meeting held at the Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan .
According to a statement jointly signed by the Oyo state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister. Temilolu Seun Ashamu and the Chief Operating Officer, IBEDCEngineer John Ayodele made available to journalists late Thursday

In the agreement, Oyo state government and IBDEC declaredtheir readiness to work together to find an amicable resolution of all issues surrounding the recent sealing of the IBEDC offices in Ibadan by the state government.
The agreement revealed that Oyo state government and IBEDC have agreed to continue to work together in the interest of the residents of the state and assured members of the public of the restoration of electricity as soon as possible.
It stressed that the two parties would continue amicable resolution of the issue and work together to make electricity meters available to all residents of the state.

“This is to notify the general public that the Oyo State Government and the IBEDC have resolved and agreed to work together in the interest of the public.” it said.
They added, ” the general public is hereby assured of the restoration of electricity supply as soon as possible, while the two parties shall continue amicable resolution of the issue in the interest of the public, including working together to make electricity meters available to residents of the state.”
