Subsidizing fertilizer by Governor Umar Namadi remains a clear factor that is facilitating agricultural transformation through food production agenda.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga shortly after inaugurating a committee on the sales of fertilizer by Governor Umar Namadi on Friday.
He said that provision of adequate fertilizer and other input at subsidized rates, would enable farmers to multiply their production at both dry and rainy seasons, with profit orientation and minimal loss, adding that Governor Umar Namadi has done a commendable job by slashing the cost of fertilizers from 25,000 to 16,000 Naira.
” We are certain that Jigawa farmers would benefit from the subsidy and I am sure that all those who were inaugurated to oversee the fertilizer sales would work selflessly to ensure that all categories of farmers benefit from the gesture without bias,” he stressed.
Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga reiterated his association’s determination and zeal to promote agriculture in order to actualize good production and economic progress in Jigawa State at both dry and wet seasons.
He thanked Governor Umar Namadi for putting agriculture in a front row of his 12 points agenda.
