Creativity, Innovation Bane For Development In Nigeria – Prof Animasahun

A Professor of Counselling and Human Development at the University of Ibadan, Professor Adebayo Animasahun has declared that creativity and innovation are the bane for development in Nigeria.

Prof Animasahun stated this while speaking at a seminar and Induction of eminent Nigeria’s who bagged honorary award from Prowess University and IAMPS held at the conference centre of the University of Ibadan hosted by Uniplan Integrated Services Limited.

The University Don pointed out that for Nigeria to experience National Development, government must pay attention to the young people and that creativity and innovation are tools for national and economic stability for Nigeria at a time that the country is facing many challenges ranging from insecurity to fall in the price of Naira, as well as economic hardship among others.

He stressed that the psychological well-being of citizen can aid development as well as political reforms, business and educational changes can take Nigeria out of it current challenges.

Representative of the Registrar and CEO of IAMPs Professor Eze Chidi Nwauba, Dr Oyedele Olusegun while speaking urged recipients of the Honorary Doctorate and new intakes to be good example of the institution and take advantage of the opportunity to impact the society.

Eze Nwauba then called on leaders across the country to invest in education, to prevent a total collapse in the nation’s educational sector.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Uniplan Integrated Limited, and a member of IAMPS Governing Board Dr. Kunle Awotiku in his remarks also called on eminent individuals who believe in Project Nigeria to be positive of the country, as there are hopes that there will be a greater Nigeria.

Dr Awotiku said that everyone must support youth entrepreneurship, training and re- training of students as well as recruiting them for several opportunities, adding that 

UNIPLAN had being existence for over 19years in Nigeria with a view to support individuals especially youths and women in their educational career.

Insisting that many youth have been trained and mentored to be great,Dr Awotiku called on eminent Nigerians to come together to revive the educational system of our Nation Nigeria, saying more Youth have to be empowered in various skill acquisition, as Nigeria move from a consuming nation to a producing country in the coming days.

Several prominent individuals were appreciated by Uniplan Integrated Services Limited including Politicians, Business Mogul and professionals were some persons were inducted as Associate members, Senior members and Fellows of Institute of Arts and Management Professionals, Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management and Professional School of Public Relations and Professional School of Project management. 

It was indeed an impactful event with honorary Doctorates are Dr Seye Oyeleke of DAWN Commission, Chief Dr. Adekannbi Christiana Omotayo, Dr. Mrs Liase Mojisola A Duke, Dr. Gideon Oluseyi Daramola, Pastor Dr. Peter Olatunde Adejumo, Dr. Mrs Comfort Olubunmi Adedeji, Dr. Alabi Abiodun Joshua among other.
